ARCHETIPO
a bespoke rug collection designed by Federica Ciotola
The term "archetype" derives from Greek and indicates an original model, fundamental in philosophy, psychology, and philology. It represents an invisible structure that organizes meaning before thought or image. The symbol, deriving from "to put together," makes the archetype visible, transforming the invisible into experience. It does not explain, but mediates between the archetype and consciousness, offering a habitable figure for psychic energy. Architecture, as the ordering principle of space, unites functional, phenomenological, and symbolic dimensions, making the symbol an event to be lived, where the invisible manifests in time and form.
